Virtual event strategy unites a global sales team
Zoom, one of the world’s premier virtual meeting platforms, wanted to ensure its annual Growth
Summit provided an engaging and polished experience for attendees. More than 3,000 global team
members, known as “Zoomies,” would be tuning in for insights and forecasting. Leaders needed
expert direction on event design that could unify, inspire and motivate its sales force.
The brand’s new chief sales officer seized the opportunity to optimize the Summit, educating and
engaging Zoomies. Zoom enhanced the virtual experience with gamification. Customizing breaks
and breakout sessions on a game-based learning platform encouraged interactivity and maintained
momentum. Plus, nothing energizes an audience of sales pros more than tapping into their
competitive spirit.

Around-the-clock event production connects global sales team
Orchestrating a seamless experience for a dispersed audience meeting virtually is a challenge.
Producing it in real-time ups the difficulty level. This event included more than a dozen live sessions
broadcast around the world (and clock), plus eight pre-recorded components.
Pre-event efforts, like filming and editing professional-quality, pre-recorded content, outlining a
down-to-the-second run of show, and shipping custom swag to the whole team, demonstrated
outstanding attention to detail. Zoomies received branded water bottles tied to a wellness and social
impact challenge. Participants tracked their refills in the app to trigger company donations to a
meaningful cause.
Even with the complexity of running four multi-component projects across multiple teams, Zoom hit
all milestones. The trick was keeping everyone in sync through time-tested systems and tools. As a
Zoom rep put it: “I couldn’t have done my job without Hartmann Studios.”
Preparation paid off. The global sales team left with a clear vision on growth priorities for the year
ahead. Zoomies who participated in the virtual experience felt energized to meet the mission:
