Immersive incentive travel amplifies local culture
Mayan dancers, a musical beat and thoughtful messaging invited incentive trip attendees into an energizing narrative, from their first moments on location in Tulum. Spanning ancient cultural icons to futuristic aspirations, each element moved high-achieving earners toward rewarding, revelatory moments that reflected their personal interests.
The story started with a waterfront welcome. The introductory evening event spanned from pool to beach, with custom scenic that transformed the luxury resort into a portal of discovery. An atmosphere of natural, organic, Tuluminati flavors and textures immersed attendees in the Yucatán Peninsula’s landscape and tradition. Custom macrame curtains, dried and live floral, floating flame points, fire dancers and entertainment infused Mayan influences. Local artists set the environmental tone by building event branding out of woven bejuco wood and huichol.
Multisensory incentive trip activations embed memories
Hands-on activations appealed to a multigenerational audience, whisking 550 attendees of all ages from travel mode into the present moment:
- A live muralist created a large-scale artwork depicting colorful cultural scene
- Numerology face painting and hair feathering outfitted attendees for the party
- Cacao tastings and a native scent station embedded memories through multisensory connections
- The “Little Explorers” club encouraged kids to dig for faux dinosaur bones and hunt glowing eggs
The four-day agenda was developed with autonomy in mind. Small group experiences, from yoga to cultural ceremonies, popped up throughout the property all week, allowing attendees to engage at their own pace. Local chefs who prepared authentic Mexican dishes for the evening events also led interactive classes on tortilla making, ceviche preparation, and mezcal blending. Lessons in regional artistic traditions provided participants souveniers steeped in meaning.
Creative event production reimagines an ordinary event venue
Where the welcome was rooted in sand and sea, the final evening sent everything skyward. Tethering activations, entertainment, food and storytelling moments to the Mayan interpretation of the cosmos, environmental design recast a convention center ballroom into an otherworldly locale.
The creative production team defined distinct zones by gods, celestial bodies and the elements for dramatic effect. Creation and destruction. Moon and sun. Rain and lightning. High-energy, high-contrast and brimming with possibility. Thoughtful design ensured effortless flow for a diverse audience, marrying high-impact visuals with local inspiration.
Guests passed through live vegetation and a faux forest to enter a temple-inspired setting. Dramatic neon uplighting and glow-in-the-dark “firelight” body painting turned ethereal ambiance into an embodied experience. Activations got attendees up from their tables to explore every inch of the area.

Projection-mapped skyscapes and lava flows on the walls, ceiling and stage contributed to a feeling of total immersion. A dynamic spectacle of moving lights, lasers, smoke and LED-accented performers changed at intervals, moving between the elements towards a futuristic finale. Embedded into the entertainment, winner videos centered the achievements of employees within the festivities. By leaning into cultural authenticity and brand values, recognition felt organic and joyfully shared. Setting a new standard for what incentive experiences can be.
