Fresh Incentive Travel Destination Takes Achievers to New Heights
Mountainous Whistler, British Colombia impresses incentive trip winners
Distinctive destination guides incentive trip design
Transformative incentive travel takes high achievers beyond the tried-and-true. That’s why a global tech giant chose to change course. Instead of once again rewarding its Cloud Club winners with a tropical getaway, leaders embraced the spectacular coastal mountains of British Columbia. Specifically, Whistler Olympic Park, a world-class incentive travel destination with a legendary story.
Welcoming 450 attendees to The Four Seasons Whistler hotel, including winners, guests and children, required ingenuity. We covered new terrain to execute opening and closing evening events embedded with a playful sense of place. With creativity and production expertise, both parties exceeded the expectations of an audience accustomed to excellence.
Cultural relevance infuses creative event production
First, a welcome event rooted in Whistler’s woodsy environment. Drummers and First Nations hoop dancers laid a beat, drawing attendees into the experience. Our scenic design team transformed the space into themed zones: Base Camp, a Collector’s Cabin and a Lake Life area with distinctly themed decor, seating and activations.
- Button-making
- Collaborative paint-by-numbers art piece
- Photo booths
- Scavenger hunt
- S’mores stations
- Storytelling experiences
- Swag tied to the mountain adventure setting
Roaming Sasquatch sightings inspired surprise and delight. But the real entertainment lineup included stage acts like The Hairfarmers, a guitar and drums duo annually voted Whistler’s best band 20 years and running.

Iconic location supports an immersive experiential event
The adults-only farewell event took inspiration from its venue: Whistler’s Olympic Biathlon facility. Built in 2010 to host the world’s greatest athletes, this mountaintop setting proved a perfect place to celebrate Cloud Club members’ peak performance.
We curated a festival experience that earned rave reviews from local partners and Cloud Club participants. Highlights spanned sea to sky and included:
- Custom tunnels, dividers and lounge spaces
- Silent disco dance
- Live, on-stage entertainment
- Scenic photo-ops designed to include the iconic Olympic rings
- A food truck serving gelato to supplement food and beverage
Place-based incentive trip activations inspire awe
More “only in Whistler” experiences tied the festival energy to the area’s special people and surroundings.
Olympian Jon Montgomery emceed and hosted a “Hold My Gold” meet and greet. He was busy all night as guests tried on his 2010 Vancouver Olympic gold medal.
More than 250 attendees climbed into a hot air balloon, venturing into the air for a bird’s-eye view of the grounds. It was a thrilling first for many.
A curated “Artist Alleyway” introduced attendees to local artisans. Their booths doubled as a gifting marketplace with a wide variety of handcrafted wares, and live demonstrations of painting, pottery making and more.
A picturesque evening with blue skies and ideal temperatures transitioned into a starry night. Cool sparks brought main stage excitement, but Mother Nature outdid our production team with a truly unforgettable natural display of the Northern Lights.
