Creating a hub for connection at a tech industry corporate event

Autodesk One Team Conference

Event design encourages connections

Interactions spark new ideas. Especially in a tech industry that’s go-go-go. Event design that
encourages experts to rub elbows is an irresistible expression of Autodesk’s brand. The software
company’s event marketing strategy is all about connecting leaders to help them stay ahead of the
curve.

The Connect Center at Autodesk’s annual One Team Conference offered thoughtfully curated space
for downtime. Just what attendees want from an organization that serves architecture, engineering,
construction, manufacturing, media, education and entertainment industries.
Autodesk OTC brought together more than 2,500 in-person attendees, with many arriving from
across the pond. Plus, 4,500+ connected remotely. Hosted at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in
Nashville, the event offered extra in-person opportunities for those who made the trip.

Event production reimagines event space into all-out conference hub

Autodesk developed dynamic networking spaces throughout the conference as living expressions of
their brand and vision. Originally imagined as a space to provide entertainment at a few key
moments, the Connect Center quickly expanded into a popular relax-and-recharge destination.
Active 16 hours a day, the Connect Center became the heart of the conference. A hub for
meaningful interactions. People couldn’t pull themselves away from the scene. Attendees lingered
well into the night, enjoying appetizers and drinks, relaxing to live DJs spinning vinyl, enveloped in
furniture and decor that reflected Autodesk’s distinct brand. They found inspiration at the interactive
stations, where five different Autodesk lines showcased the latest technologies to employees and
partners. (Especially impressive, considering the condensed five-week planning turnaround!)
Seamlessly managing the Connect Center’s unexpected crowds meant that no matter how many
showed up, everyone felt comfortable. The hub was such a hit that it required on-site expansions to
food and beverage, as well as entertainment. The team quickly adapted to changing needs and
delivered.

Beyond the Connect Center, event production included two evening events that brought a touch of
glam to high-energy celebrations. Dramatic lighting and local musicians performing on stage
transformed a traditional hotel ballroom into a vibey lounge—in under three hours. The crowd was so
captivated, and Autodesk felt the event reflected their brand so well, they invited Hartmann Studios
to produce it the following year.
