Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Week was the biggest gathering of world leaders in San Francisco since the founding of the United Nations here in 1945, and the evening gala brought together invited guests from the 21 APEC member economies under one roof.

An expansive range of domestic leaders, including President Biden, Vice President Harris, Governor Newsom and Mayor Breed, joined global leaders such as Xi Jinping and Justin Trudeau at the Exploratorium for an evening by the Bay.

More than 1,200 attendees enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, conversation, performances by military bands and eventually a keynote presentation drove home the event’s message with a live global telecast. A surprise performance by Gwen Stefani upped the ante and the accompanying fireworks show over the San Francisco Bay served as the perfect pyromusical culmination.

Creative problem solving, technical precision and tight execution ensured the safety of government leaders from around the globe amid a world-class show.

It was truly epic…thank you all for your dedication and commitment to our beautiful city…we made our mark! With pride, gratitude and beyond…”
– Maryam Muduroglu, Chief of Protocol for City and County of San Francisco
