Oracle OpenWorld Appreciation Event: Treasure Island

Twenty years ago we shattered the traditional barriers of a 3,000-person tech conference and reimagined the event from the attendee perspective, achieving exponential audience growth to more than 20,000 while revolutionizing the way user events are created, designed and executed.

To accommodate the rapid growth, we were challenged with finding creative solutions to entertain the sizable audience on the event’s closing night. Ultimately, we converted an empty lot on Treasure Island into an appreciation concert festival venue and access to this event became the most sought-after ticket in the industry.

The Results

Hartmann Studios:

  • Transformed the space into a world class, multi-headliner music venue and adult playground, filled with amusement park rides, interactive games and laden with craft beers and local menu favorites 
  • Created a highly-coveted premier sponsorship and VIP program for key partners 
  • Designed and executed top-to-bottom strategic, creative and logistical production of the event from the stage set design to the execution of all technical components 
  • Designed and managed infrastructure buildout including wayfinding and line management, food and beverage management, headliner talent procurement and onsite management, labor management, security and risk assessment, plus hundreds of temporary staffers
  • Built a robust transportation plan, shuttling attendees and VIPs to and from specific points in the city and the event site
